Physical Description: With the exception of their green flight feathers, Golden Conures (or Queen of Bavaria Conures) are a beautiful, striking golden-yellow. Babies will have green feathers scattered on their backs and heads, but molt these feathers as they age. Their beaks are horn colored, rather than black.
Average Lifespan: 20 – 30 years
Sexing: Sexing these birds requires a DNA test, as they are not sexually dimorphic and you cannot tell the sex just by looking at them.
Origin: South America (Specifically, Brazil)
Trainability: Domestic hand-fed babies make excellent pets. Golden Conures are very affectionate parrots, and really enjoy spending time with their caretakers. They are playful and outgoing, and most are very intelligent. They are not known for being good talkers, though most will learn a word or two. They have a funny robotic sort of voice, which can be difficult to understand. Golden Conures are known for being very even-tempered, and they are less likely to bite than other parrots. Because of their easy-going and highly affectionate personalities, these Conures are one of the most highly sought-after parrots in the pet trade.
Loudness: Golden Conures can be loud from time to time – usually when they are playing or excited. But, generally, they are relatively quiet. Like all birds, they tend to be as noisy as the household in which they are raised. If they have to compete with a lot of noise to be heard, then they will probably become loud. If the household is quiet, they will typically be quiet as well.
Pricing: Golden Conures are expensive birds, due to their rarity. They can only be purchased in the state in which you live as they are on the National Endangered Species List. We are only able to sell them to Florida residents or do a “breeder’s trade” across state lines. Permits are offered for out of state commerce, but we have no knowledge of one actually being issued. Feel free to call our store at (954) 725-0088 for pricing and availability.

If the results are not perfect but the bird can be easily treated, then we pay for all medications and all treatment. If the results are unacceptable then we either replace your bird or refund 100% of the purchase price of your bird, at our option.
